"Eagle Watch"

I can't remember the last time I had the flu, but oh man! this time was brutal!  All I can say is we have just built up some amazing immunity, all of us!  :)  After about 10 days of the flu making its way through everyone in the house, we decided it was time to get out of the house and do something fun!
We had heard of the 19th Annual Eagle watch that was going on a few towns over.  Erik was all over that. He has been so excited to see as many eagles in the wild as he can.

We drove out to Cove Palisades Park and were just blown away that another amazing place existed right outside of town!  This is Lake Billy Chonook which was a beautiful blue/green lake surrounded by shear cliffs and palisades on all sides.  From the highway you would have no idea that something so magical existed a few miles away.

Another breath taking view of the Lake in Cove Palisades Park.

After getting to the Eagle Watch Event, we went to watch a tribal dance that was going to be performed by the Indians of the Warms Springs Tribe.  Auty keeping her distance.

Joss was enamored, as usual, by the dancing.  She couldn't take her eyes off of them.

The little Indians stole the show!!  They were adorable!

After a fun filled day of tribal dancing and looking for eagles, which we never ended up seeing, except for an empty nest built into the walls of the cliff, we headed home realizing again why it was that we moved here.  Oregon has left us awe stricken once again by its natural beauty as well as by its beautiful people.
